And the Nominees Are...

File Under: The Best Albums of 2006

Happy Turkey Day!

It's that time of year for the unveiling of my 2006 Album of the Year nominees (winner to be announced on or around New Year's). I've decided, in the hopes that you will listen to my podcast (you should! it has song clips!), not to list the nominees in this post right away (I'll update it eventually) and just post the (brief) mp3 version of the announcement here for now. Hope you enjoy it!

Have you actually heard the whole album? It's genius. Especially the last two songs, Only Skin and Cosmia.

Turkey will be ready in like ten minutes! Yay!

Fer crissakes, Matt! I'm on a computer with no sound. Not fair. I was going to show Susan the list - it's a Thanksgiving tradition.

This is Liz.

Of the albums you listed, the only one I have listened to won the Turkey Award, and I actually kinda like that album. Just thought you would want to know.

I "kind of" like it too, but Yoshimi was so great and this one was just a letdown for me. I have hardly listened to it at all in months. I don't hate it, which is why it was a half-hearted Turkey Award, but a Turkey Award nonetheless.
